Personalised Safety Plans

Each plan is tailored to the individual, recognising that every survivor’s situation, risks, and needs are unique.

Our trauma-informed staff work collaboratively with each person to develop a plan that helps them stay safe both during and after their time with us.

What is a Safety Plan?

What is a Safety Plan?

A safety plan may include steps such as identifying safe places to go in an emergency, preparing an emergency bag with essential documents and items, planning safe ways to leave an abusive situation and managing contact with the perpetrator. It can also involve strategies for protecting children, securing housing and navigating legal processes. For children, we use age-appropriate approaches to help them understand what to do if they feel unsafe.

Our Approach to Safety Planning

Where appropriate, we take a multi-agency approach to safety planning, working closely with other professionals, particularly those involved in Wirral’s Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC), to ensure wraparound support. We always aim to work with the survivor’s consent and at their pace. We will always be transparent and supportive, ensuring survivors are kept informed and involved.

Our goal is to empower survivors to make informed choices and regain control over their lives, while ensuring their safety and wellbeing remain our top priority.
