Since 1981, we have provided safe, trauma-informed accommodation for women and children escaping domestic abuse. Our purpose-built refuge in Wirral offers 12 self-contained units, each with en-suite facilities, shared kitchens and lounges, a sensory playroom, and a large garden with play equipment. This nurturing environment is designed to support recovery, rebuild confidence, and create a sense of community and belonging.
Our Properties
In addition to our refuge, we now manage eight dispersed properties across Wirral, offering temporary move-on accommodation for those transitioning from refuge or awaiting permanent housing. These homes provide a vital steppingstone- safe, supported, and private- where families can begin to regain independence while still receiving outreach support from our trauma-informed team. In the past year alone, we provided 2,575 nights of accommodation to 25 adults and 33 children, with 17 successful move-ons into longer-term housing.
Ongoing Support
Our support goes far beyond a roof over someone’s head. Every woman and child receives tailored help, including trauma therapy, mental health and wellbeing support, financial planning, and assistance with accessing schools, healthcare, and legal services. Our staff team holds a Level 5 Diploma in Trauma and Mental Health. This ensures that every interaction is grounded in empathy, safety, and empowerment.
