Moving On
How We Support You to Move Forward
Our goal is to help you rebuild your life at a pace that feels safe and right for you. While you’re with us, we focus on supporting you to develop the skills and confidence you need to manage life changes and move towards a hopeful, stable future.
Your journey is led by you. We will work with you to create a personalised support plan that reflects your goals, wishes, and needs. When you feel ready to move on, we are here to help with the next steps, always respecting your choices and timing.
What to Expect
Planning for Your Future
From the start, our staff will work with you to explore your long-term goals, such as where you want to live and the kind of support you might need.
Building Skills and Gathering Resources
We will help you identify and develop the skills and resources necessary for your next chapter-whether that’s budgeting, applying for housing, or accessing community support.
Regular Reviews
Your support plan will be reviewed regularly, so we can celebrate your progress, understand what’s working, and identify any additional support you might need.
Preparing for Your Move
When you’re ready, we’ll meet with you to plan your move thoroughly, including finding suitable housing, looking at schools if needed, and making sure your new home feels right for you.
Assisting With Practical Tasks
We can support you with searching for properties, approaching landlords, applying for benefits, and planning your moving day- helping with packing, arranging transport, and setting up utilities like gas, electricity, and water.
Ongoing Support
Moving on can feel both exciting and challenging. We will work with you to identify who can support you after you leave, whether that’s family, friends, professionals like social workers, or community services. We may also offer outreach support to help you settle into your new home.
Sharing Information Safely
In order to help you find suitable housing, we may need to share your information with other organisations, such as landlords or housing options. We will always ask for your permission first and explain what information will be shared. Your privacy and safety are very important to us.
We’re Still Here for You
Rebuilding your life after refuge can be a significant step, and it’s normal to feel a mix of emotions. Remember, you are not alone. Our staff are here to listen, support, and help you navigate this process. Even after you move on, you are welcome to contact us for advice or further assistance. We believe in your strength, and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
